Parish Council

Meet once a month – check our calendar for schedule.

Is a group of folks selected from the congregation to help make the day to day decisions about the financial and practical needs of the congregation. This is a ministry commissioned by the congregation to be on council each year. They support the rector in their work and each other in proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ.


Chancel Guild

 A dedicated team that prepares the altar and the sanctuary for worship-sets the table, arranges the flowers, maintains the silver and brass, and decorates for festivals.


Sunday School

Cross Talk
Cross Talk is for all children and youth from JK to Grade 8, Church of the Redeemer 9:30am service and St. Stephen’s 11:00am service. Cross Talk is open to all of your family and friends so please bring them along on Sunday mornings.


Choir

The joy of singing praises to the Lord lifts our spirits and our eyes. Join us in learning new hymns, preparing anthems and leading in worship. We practice on Thursday evenings at 6:30.


Outreach/Community Services

Our parish has many events throughout the year which enhance spiritual growth and Christian fellowship, through fun activities and social gatherings.

Card Party

Third Thursday of each month at 1 pm. Come and share in fellowship and fun. A small fee of $5.00 is charged. Complete with dessert.

Senior's Luncheon

4 times per year at the Church of the Redeemer. We gather for Holy Communion at 11 AM followed by catered lunch with either a craft, guest speaker or entertainer. Suggested free will offering. Events dates listed in calendar.

Pews, Brews and You

For adults 19 plus, couples and singles. We meet throughout the year for monthly Bible Studies and Discussion sessions at a local area pub.  See calendar for more information, dates and locations.

Fellowship & Coffee Hour

Available at both churches, we gather for coffee hour after Sunday church on the 1st Sunday at Church of Redeemer and 4th Sunday at St. Stephen’s.

The Sweetie Pies

A large group of volunteers at Church of the Redeemer who make several thousand fruit pies for sale throughout the year.  We sell them as fundraisers for other organizations and make custom orders for larger groups.  Watch for our pies in different places all over the Essex County area. 

Meat Pies

A large group of volunteers from St. Stephen’s who make several thousand meat pies for sale in February and March.  Watch for upcoming dates on the calendar for making and buying these meal-sized pies.

Turkey Supper

Many volunteers serve hundred of people in this highly popular event in November at St. Stephen’s.

Annual Yard and Bake Sale

Nothing makes your heart beat faster than a good bargain, a freshly baked pie, or a juicy burger straight from the BBQ!   This year – the last Saturday in April, check the calendar for details.

Pasta Supper

All you can eat pasta with different sauce options, an annual event at Redeemer every spring.   This year – the last Saturday in April, check the calendar for details.

Homecoming Sunday

Come and join us as we celebrate our heritage. This annual event in the life of the parish occurs on the second Sunday of June.


Confirmation

Confirmation preparation for high school age. Classes are offered at a time the Bishop visits (usually every 3 years).


Prayer Chain

All are welcome to join this chain devoted to praying for the needs of our parishioners and those we love. If you have a prayer request please contact Rev. Paul.


Alongsiders Program

People in our congregation who pray for members of our Church family, the work of the parish, the church and the world. If you want to become an Alongsider or would like further information, Please contact Rev. Paul or our Anglican Fellowship of Prayer representatives.


Servers Guild

An opportunity to learn and to be involved in the worship service. You are trained to carry the cross in procession, take up the collection, and help set the altar and clear and assist the minister in the church service


Lectors / Intercessors / Greeters

All of these ministries are vitally important to the weekly worship service. Lectors proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ by reading and sharing the Bible texts for the day in the service. The intercessors lead us in the Prayers of the People each week. The greeters are our first line of hospitality when we enter the church door. They welcome you to our service and give you the information you will need to follow along in worship.


Renewal Team

This is a group whose primary task is to dream and to create achievable short term goals with the intent of showing the vitality within our walls and making them visible to the community. Watch our building and our website for more opportunities to share.
